I choose to be an up stander because I have seen too much violence. Mean people are cowards and the ones who have been bullied but keep going on are the real courageous hero’s.
Anyone can be a bully. It takes real compassion and courage to be an up stander. It takes even more courage to ask for help or turn in the bully.
I was bullied for five years after I had defended a school yard of terrified kids by taking on the bullies in one school. I then move to another school where the circumstances changed. I later became the defender again in still another school. I later helped rehabilitate runaways and suicide prevention surviving attempters. You will prevail and when your story of survival is the determining factor that saves someone else then you will see what I see in you which is a much bigger and more courageous hero than any bully. I’ve been there and want to help.
