Breaking Through

Hi my name is Audra and I am 20 years old. I am a singer/song writer/ and I play guitar. Growing up I had a really tough time in middle school and even in high school. I learned slower and since I couldn’t keep up with the rest of the class I was put into smaller classrooms with less students and those classes were often called “Special ed”. I didn’t really fit in with the “popular crowd”.

I remember walking to class I would get picked on and called stupid or dumb because I was in smaller classrooms. I would come home crying to my mom and dad everyday. I remember when I got my hair cut short everyone said that I looked like a boy and that I was ugly. I had a crush on this boy in 8th grade and he would write me notes and tell me that he liked me to but when his friends were around he would ignore me and act like I was invisible. I would try to say hi to him but him and his friends would laugh and keep walking.

There were a few girls in middle school who constantly targeted me. There was one girl who didn’t know when to stop. In CCD she punched me in my face, at a block party she slammed a door in my face and my hand almost got caught in the door. In 7th grade I sang at my schools talent show, my teacher was so proud of me that she let our whole class go out to recess early. In the play ground the same girl decided it would be funny to pull my pants down in front of the whole classroom and I tripped on my pants and fell on my butt. My whole class made fun of me for the rest of the year. There are so many other stories I can share but I would fill up this whole site.

Anyway, I wrote a song about bullying called “BREAKING THROUGH” and I would love to share it with the world. I hope that you can all help me! The video has 37,699 views so far, please help me get more.

Audra! You are beautiful and it is so amazing that you have learned to used your gifts as therapy and to one day be able to help others who are in your shoes. I am a singer/songwriter as well and love what you are doing. Always keep your head up and know that you are beautiful! xoxo
