Standing Strong

My name is Sam, I live in Greenfield, Indiana. I’ve been bullied since fourth grade. When I was in third grade I moved from one school to another. I was really sad about that because I was leaving my three best friends I had since kindergarten. My mom ended up pregnant when we moved. After awhile my parents decided it would be best to move back. I was excited because I kept thinking yes I get my friends back. Well that didn’t happen. Once I moved back in fourth grade, my three best friends wouldn’t talk to me. They went around the school telling everyone that my mom’s baby was mine. They would call my phone calling me nasty names, my parents tried talking to the school but the school wouldn’t do anything. I didn’t understand what was happening at the time.

I ended up moving from that school my 6th grade year. Everything was perfect. I met this girl named Allie. We weren’t great friends but we talked. In seventh grade we became best friends. We wore the same clothes, she spent the night at my house every weekend. I told her all my secrets. My parents were even going to adopt her. We stopped being friends the summer before my 8th grade year, She didn’t like the boy I was dating at the time. When me and him broke up in August, we started talking again. The beginning of our 8th grade was awesome together. Then around September she stopped hanging with me and stopped talking to me. I ignored it at first, then everything got horrible. I was sitting in my room one night and Allie had texted my mom saying I was all kinds of bad names, and saying I sent pictures to people. My mom was mad. I didn’t send a pic and I told her that. She believed me, but that didn’t stop Allie.

Allie went and told everyone the next day. She told them I was pregnant and did a whole bunch of things with people. I didn’t know what to do. It got so bad I’d come home crying every night. I told my mom what was going on, she said if it gets worse she’ll go to the school. One day I was getting off the bus and walking to my mom’s car and Allie and two of her friends starting calling me names and tried to jump me. I told my mom once I got in the car, she finally decided to go and tell the school. The vice principal and principal talked with Allie and her friends who had harassed me, all they did was tell them to stop! I was totally ticked off. They didn’t stop for about another month. Me and her don’t talk anymore. I have a couple new friends now, who I know won’t do that to me.

Going through that made me understand that things aren’t always perfect and your life can be messed up when you least expect it to. I’m against bullying completely. It’s wrong and cruel. No one should have to fear going to school or wanting to end their life. Bullying needs to be noticed. Most teachers and parents don’t believe you when you tell them your being bullied. I’m glad mine listened, I don’t know what I wouldve done without them.
